1 great bbq!

I did help make some of the things, so I feel somewhat useful. I think I remembered to wash my hands, but maybe not. So if you had the banana pudding or guacamole -- sorry.

just kidding.

As with last year, there was plenty of gayness .. maybe too much.

I'm especially happy with the way these three photos turned out. They're almost wallpaper quality!

I've hosted a lot of BBQs over the years but never realized how much effort goes into doing a real, honest BBQ, not just grilling meat, but slow cooking and smoking too. I don't know how the Chairman can handle it all, but with all his efforts we prepared and served a lot of tasty treats. I tried to help, but falling prey to the need sleep, I left him to take care of most of it, and he amazingly stayed up for more than twenty four hours. Amazing. Kudos.

It wasn't my BBQ so don't worry if you weren't invited. I'll host another one soon, it's been too long.

It's been a long, long time since I've gone bowling, but after a somewhat awkward start, I think I did okay. I don't think I completed a single game, but in each I reached 100 by the 8th frame. If I recall correctly, this is better than I've ever done -- I'll attribute that to Wii Sports Bowling. One thing for sure though -- it has convinced me that I have to stretch more.

Faithy's Wonder Woman throughly defeats Stan's Spiderman for the title of best birthday cake of 2007 thus far.. though Stacy's cake from '06 was good too.

I've compiled all the photos from today, along with all the photos from Q1 2007 into this gallery.

Here is the long awaited video of Super Chicken Fighter 2': Jared's Revenge. I know I took way too long to edit and upload this, and I apologize. I actually finished this quite a while ago, but due to youtube's 10 minute limit I was unable to get it hosted, but oddly enough, Google doesn't have the same limitation.

The video is pretty long and I guess I could have shortened it, but I think their reactions during the competition add to the flavor.

Keep in mind that Jared has agreed to do the challenge again, so if you or any one you know can handle very very spicy food, let me know and we can schedule another attempt.

On Sunday, January 28th, we're going to redo the University Chicken 911 Challenge. So far, Ning and Jared have committed to entering. I think Neil has in the past expressed interest too. The more the merrier, if you'd like to participate or just watch, you're all more than welcome to come.

Things go well, especially when there is wine involved. Thanks to Jen at jdawg.net, I had a surplus of wine, that thankfully went to a good cause -- Marilyn's Birthday. I've added photos from her party to the December Gallery. There'd be more but when there is a competing camera in the capable hands of someone like Faithy, it's difficult for an amateur like me to get all the good shots.

More photos are due, but for now, this is it. Thanks to Faithy, I got an invite to Yelp's Holiday Party at the California Academy of Sciences. Not only thanks, we had elite access, and got to go in hours earlier than the common folk. With an open bar and awesome food catered by some awesome restaurants, it was probably the best time I've had at one of these kinds of parties. Great crowd.

That certainly is an apt description for yesterday's Korean BBQ feast at Korean Bar-B-Que in San Bruno. No kidding, that's the name of the restaurant. Don't worry, the lack of creativity in naming the joint has had no impact on the quality of their delicious food. Oddly, their review on yelp is not so good. Click here for the gallery.

Busy month. Lots of fun times result in a great gallery of photos. Everything from Eric's birthday @ Buca, to fine dining at Masa's and hanging out with Emmy at The Cellar. Of course, this is all on top of our normal adventures at the Zeitgeist and Thursday night out for dinner. Chenery Park was excellent. Who knew catfish goes well with panko, tri-tip goes with mustard? Or that cheese could be good? (O_o) Thanks are due to Matty for recommending a great place. Cheers!

We made a trip out to Marine World, thanks to Stan who not only hooked us up with passes, parking, and lunch, we were treated to airbrushed tattoos! Leslie, Ryan, and I sported this spiffy spider!

The best thing about the tattoos -- I got to wear it to my reunion! I think I freaked out more than one person. I apologize. The reaction I got was priceless though!

Since I sorta have a penguin theme going on this site, I thought I'd continue it..

Four days in Vegas. Temperatures approaching one hundred ten degrees. One hundred twenty nine photos. Fifty seven games of Mario Kart Arcade GP. Two Bukkake ぶっかけそば rape parties. Untold amounts of fun.

The trip consisted of (in alphabetical order): Eric, Jacinta, Jared, Stacy, Stan, and I. There were a few horrible sights to see, but you can take a look at the photos for more. It's too bad though , the gallery would have been a lot more fun had photos not been deleted.. the remaining ones are available here.

Busy weekend. Eldo had a chance to go to the park and ride an exercise bike.. (._.) There was a baRotary meet in Cupertino, photos here. Lots of pretty cars and photos of me being Grill Master for the day, since Marvin couldn't make it. (-_-);; I think we did okay despite not having his wisdom present. I don't think anyone got sick from my cooking. (-_-);; There was plenty of entertainment to be had otherwise.. kids pretending to have one leg and fighting each other and acting pretty .. weird. That photo really doesn't do them justice, so I'll post some video when I have some time. You can tell we were all mesmerized by their shenanigans!

To commemorate Bentley's visit to the Bay Area, I've compiled a small gallery. After years of trying to convince people to take the 911 Challenge at Cluck U/University Chicken two people stepped up to the challenge. You can tell how spicy the wings are just by looking at their expressions.. I'm glad I didn't do it. (^_-);; I've got a bunch of videos that I'm going to edit together -- it's pretty impressive what they had to go through to compete. It should be an olympic sport!

The challenge for the uninitiated:
12 Spicy Wings
10 Minutes
No Beverages before start -- nothing for 5 minutes after
No Napkins, must lick fingers clean

Player 1: Twin Fisted Strategy -- strip the meat from the wings before consumption.


Player 2: No strategy -- eat wings normally. Only three wings finished! You Lose.


Player 1: Wins -- Perfect completion.

Since it was raining this weekend, we stayed in and watched The 40 Year Old Virgin again -- and played a lot of music / rhythm games. They're a lot of fun when you can convince beginners to try! I've fallen behind. I had been waiting on photos from other people but I figure there is no point waiting. First up -- photos from Ibiza in Oakland. Had we known it was an eighteen and over club we probably wouldn't have gone. Young is good at convincing us to do things though, damn peer pressure. VIP access saved the day though, thanks to Jon for hooking us up.

I'm not sure who came up with the idea to go to Whisper. I know I was asked several times, and I'm glad we went. I probably ended up being on the guest list several times over! Though packed it was a lot of fun once I had enough alcohol and dared to fight the crowds inside. I don't think it's worth drinking Bud Light even if it was only $1 a glass.. It was cool to see Joe out; he's always said how he never wants to go clubbing. I don't know how Matty managed to avoid the camera.. it was really smooth of him to knock the table and spill our drinks -- especially how Stacy took the blame. Here's the gallery.

I actually rushed out and got another after a day out at Luau where I missed a lot of great photo opportunities.. and every time I missed one someone pointed it out. Oops! I've had a lot of requests for copies of the comic -- I consider it a work in progress -- a lot of people don't understand the inside jokes, so I'm gonna edit it and add captions and clean it up a bit.

I'm not immune to drunken photos, I don't mind putting them online too. Don't say I never do.. I'm just never usually in photos since I'm the one taking the pics usually.

Though I had no camera this weekend I still managed to get my hands on some photos, thanks to Steven. It sucks not having a camera, I missed a lot of Kodak moments.. Both Adrienne and Young managed to stay out of all the pictures.. anyway, here is the gallery. I wasn't there during the last half, I'm just including them for the sake of completeness.

This year is starting off great. Two fun nights out in a single week. I even found $60 in the street! How's that for luck.. hope it's a sign of things to come. (^_^) I spent over an hour going through the 130 photos that were taken. Cropping them, removing redeye, deleting the really embarrassing ones. (^_-) I think we should hang out with Lily more often, I know I had a good time. Thanks for inviting us! As usual here for the gallery. If there is interest I can add slideshows too.

New Year's Weekend went by like a blur. I'm not sure what I did to fill my time but I do know that I didn't get a lot done. I'm going to go through all the photos I've taken this past year and make a gallery to celebrate all the fun times had by all. Expect it soon.. (> <);;

Christmas Eve, before everyone was stuffed and too tired to do anything but watch G.I. Joe the Movie.

Though I'm still sick, I figured I should get out, at least for dinner. That was the plan initially, at least.

Thanks to Matty, we had a table waiting for us at Country Station at 17th and Mission in SF. I've been wanting to do restaurant reviews for a while now, and this place definitely would motivate me into concentrating on it again...

Outside Country Station, you can't tell that it's even a restaurant from outside..


Inside, besides the tasty food, the mariachi bands stop by for some live entertainment.. where else can you get Japanese food with an accordion accompaniment!? (^_^)

Yeah, I'm sick, I haven't bothered to fix my hair or shave for a couple days, don't blame me. I haven't gone to work either.. I think I'll make it tomorrow though, I'm feeling okay as I type this.

Things have calmed down a lot compared to the very busy summer we've had. Spent the three day weekend mostly sitting around and trying to find something to do.. I did have enough to do to keep myself entertained though.

Went to Farallon with Tina -- pictured below is a $18 scallop. It was overcooked, don't order it. Food was pretty good otherwise. I took a bite of the salmon and I have to say that it was probably the best I've ever had... I ordered the Horseradish Crusted Sablefish with short rib salmis, herbed spaetzle, and pancetta. If you don't know what half those words mean, don't worry, I didn't either and I felt dumb asking the waiter. (-_-);;

Large scallop on a bed of chestnut crepes, with smoked bacon and an apple cider reduction.


Yesterday was a quiet day too, got my standard mushroom stuffed bacon wrapped top sirloin at Hungry Hunter (what a sad looking website) which is always savory and delicious. I've got to start eating healthier though, been stuffing myself a lot lately. (>_<);;

Went to @lpha Bar again, though disappointed on Halloween it was pretty cool this time. Still crowded but we got the comfy sofa and just chilled for the night. I didn't take many photos this time, so I've added them to the 2005 gallery. You can see Stan passed out there.

Friday -- Jon's Birthday @ @lpha Bar + Lounge on Geary. Some guy had the Burger King mask, so I'm glad I didn't buy it too. Two Kings in one place? That sounds like trouble..

Saturday Night at Club NV, Anna as a cat without ears, Nancy as.. I'm not sure, and Stacy as Tinkerbell without wings. All of them cooler than my CSI t-shirt though. =) I didn't catch the name of the gal with the horns.. =/

Sunday @ Luau's Halloween Party though I couldn't get Emmy to wear her sexy lolita costume we still had fun, here we are laughing at something or other.. =) It's rare to get a chance to go out with Emmy, but it's worth the wait! =)


Thanks to Stan I had a more complete CSI costume, here I am throughly investigating a glass for evidence of some sort.. Ning the jaguar is an eyewitness at the scene...

So the day before Mazda Extreme Street I was wondering if the rims from my other car would fit on the FC, so I swapped them. I think it looks OK -- but they bling a little too hard for such an old car. (haha, I used bling as a verb) (-_-);;


I like this photo, nice angle. I'm very tempted to sell this car, I'm not sure I can justify having three cars for a whole lot longer.. It is a bit difficult to deal with them all.


I want this go-kart so bad. It's gotta be super fast! Piiiika-Chuuu!! On the front of the kart there is a picture of Charizard too. Awesome!

Went to The Cellar on Friday, I don't think anyone had much fun at all. The music sucked and the place was too crowded. I had fun at least, got to chat with Emmy the whole night. (^_-);;

The food there is very very good. Eric made the right choice with the mussels for the first course. Much better than the seared tuna I selected. The mysterious plate of satay chicken that came was great too, especially since we didn't order it. (^_^)//

I'm in a lot of pain. We went Go-Karting -- and I spun out. No problem, right? But Stan missed the yellow flag and hit me full speed, broad-sided. I'll be okay -- I think.

I would have updated sooner, but this was a long weekend.

Congrats to Calvin on his win at Formula D this past Saturday, seeing that made the trip worth it. I sported my pink Puma Speedcats the whole day, and I lost track of how many complements I got. I'm gonna start wearing them more often despite how gay people say they are. (-_-);;



You might be wondering, how do you top a fun filled day of drifting action? By watching an old guy hula at Hukilau of course. (No, not really) Food was good though. (Get the Ahi Poke)



I've been getting a lot of people wondering why I don't use my driveway -- as you can see from this photo, this rear wheel got high enough to stick your foot under -- reason enough not to even attempt sticking a lowered car inside. (-_-);; Too bad.

For the first weekend in a long time, I actually have a whole weekend planned out days in advance. (^-^) Lets see my itinerary:

Saturday: BBQ
Sunday: BBQ
Monday: BBQ

None of which I know much about, I don't even know if they're lunch or dinner ones.. so I guess there is always a chance for multiple BBQs per day. (^_-)

I got a lot of questions about my previous posting, I'll get around to writing something up when I have some time. I'm surprised people don't know Bonk! (O_o);;

It's early morning, just got home -- still stuffed from that all that delicious BBQ food and late night pizza and Mario Party. I still can't believe I lost so badly. (-_-);;

Thanks to Mary, Cassandra and everyone else involved in the planning and execution of such a large and well maintained BBQ.



This whole weekend I've been exposed to various pets, and for some inexplicable reason they're drawn to me. I think maybe I smell like food or something. (-_-);;

I'm glad we killed all the oysters. Near the end I thought there were gonna be a lot left over. Thanks to everyone who brought goodies, gifts, and helped to cook and prepare food. Too bad we forgot about the key lime pie. I bet I'll get to enjoy it later. ^-^

I think we've got more than enough food for the BBQ now, steak, pork chops, wings, deviled eggs, oysters, salmon. ribs.. I think thats everything so far. If you're bringing something, bring something unlisted!

I don't have anything planned for tomorrow, I think I'l just go get some chicken from Popeye's. I want to make that a birthday tradition from now on. ^_-;;
