SNK VS Capcom.. no, I mean Simpson VS Griffin

This is an unlikely mashup: Two things I love very much -- The Simpsons and 2D vs fighting games. I'll have to say that I don't like the result. One player obviously didn't know how to play, the other was really, really cheap. At the end of the video you'll see the author's bias anyway. Boo.

Things like this make me want to get back into game design!

Real Life Mario Kart

Looks like fun..

I, for one, welcome our new Wii Powered overlords

In case you don't get the reference in the title.

News announcer Kent Brockman mistakes a floating ant in a space shuttle experiment floating close to the camera for a giant space ant:

"Ladies and gentlemen, uh, we've just lost the picture, but what we've seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft has apparently been taken over -- 'conquered' if you will -- by a master race of giant space ants. It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves."

Neo*Geo Cartridges For Sale.. finally.

I know I've been talking about it for quite a while, but I've finally posted my Neo*Geo games for sale. It's sad because this is where I misspent my youth. As soon as I got my first job I whittled away my earnings into these bits of plastic and silicon. I did have a lot fun putting the collection together, but after it became obvious that I'd never complete it, I gave up. The remaining games that I needed to purchase would easily top $5,000. If you're curious about following the sale, I put together a quick site for keeping track of it.

Collecting games definitely became an obsession, and I apologize for the stupidity and the relationships I may have jeopardized along the way.

Same goes with my cars. I might even post my 1995 Mazda RX-7 for sale next. What the heck.. here is a feeler ad. (-_-)

Wii's a babe magnet, says Men's Health

wiilove
If you're the type to get relationship advice from a magazine column then take note, Men's Health recommends picking up "that new Nintendo system with the stupid name." Apparently it's been designed to "suck video-game-dissing women into the virtual world," at which point they become your love slaves. Not bad for $250, eh? Oh, and by the way, I hear the DS works the same magic -- and it's portable!

Even More Mario! (Thanks Eldo!)

via modblog

A Nintendo themed tattoo. Now I think I've seen everything! Nice that they even included characters from the Game and Watch series!

More Mario!

This is really really really old, but a really really really awesome commercial -- School's Out!

A lot of people seem to complain that Nintendo is too "kiddy". Somehow they want them to publish a more "mature" game. Somehow I don't think the Mario universe would work. Here's an imagined scenario where Mario takes on his adversaries in a bloody melee. -- The People's Mario

Katamari Damacy in San Francisco!

Katamari Damacy is one of those quirky games, that very few people have heard of. Basically you start by rolling up objects that are tiny -- in game, may you'd start with thumb tacks, dice, ants, and work your way up to chocolate pieces, apples, telephones -- until finally you can start grabbing cats, dogs, people, cars, and more. A creative ad agency took the idea and turned it into a television commercial for an insurance company. Seems like a super fast way to travel -- who needs to take MUNI?

The Super Mario Brothers Wedding Cake

Via Live Journal. "The most amazing cake I've ever seen in my life. In fact, the entire thing, except for Mario and the Princess is cake. Even the Piranha Plants are made out of frosting! They even went so far as to add a bouquet to the Princess made out of frosting as well."

Selling my precious SNK Neo*Geo Collection.. (-_-);;

Unfortunately I think it's time to move on. I'm also selling a couple of my cars and getting rid of other random things. I spent large amount of my time growing up amassing this collection and it pains me to see it go. I gave up a long time ago on collecting Neo*Geo cartridges because it is simply impossible to get the remaining handful of missing games. I haven't even touched one of them in three years, so I think they'll be happier in the hands of another collector. Here is a gallery of things up for sale at the moment.

My Neo*Geo games have been sitting on a shelf obstructed by a cart for years now. Sad.

Here are some other various things for sale. I'll get to them after the Neo*Geo games are gone.

I'm selling my SEGA Megalo 410 Arcade Machine as well. (41" Screen, JAMMA)

Nintendo Wii versus Sony Playstation 3

The video speaks for itself.

Hack your Sony PSP (^-^)//

I gave in. I bought a PSP despite all the problems they've been having and even though there aren't really any games worth getting for it.. why? I think the picture speaks for itself:

IMG_1025

I did end up getting one with a single dead pixel, and of course, being Sony, that isn't good enough to be fixed under warranty.

Anyway, if you can get your hands on a firmware 1.5 PSP, it's easy to do. I've already loaded all the TurboGrafx and NES games I legally own onto it. Fun!

Maybe one day soon there will be a game thats worth getting for the PSP, till then, I'll just use it for emulators.
